“Therefore, the quality of the University of North Sumatra’s reputation is 80% dependent on the lecturers, while the remaining 20% is supportive,” he stated in his opening remarks.
Public Relations USU - Civil Servants (PNS) at the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) took their Oath of Office and received their Appointment Letters. The event was held at the Digital Learning Center Building, 8th Floor, on Monday (June 2, 2025).
The Oath of Office and the handover of the appointment letters were conducted solemnly, attended by young lecturers from various faculties within USU.
Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si., stated that the lecturers have assumed their responsibilities after taking the oath of office. These consequences pertain to humanity and divinity. He emphasized that the university’s reputation depends on the lecturers who teach there.
“Therefore, the quality of the University of North Sumatra’s reputation is 80% dependent on the lecturers, while the remaining 20% is supportive,” he stated in his opening remarks.
Furthermore, Prof. Mury conveyed three messages to the lecturers regarding the tri dharma, organizational management, and lecturers as role models for their students.
“Our integration as lecturers is tested because we are not only required to do it for ourselves but also as a guide for others,” he said.
Silvia Annisa, S.Sos., M.A., a young lecturer from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, stated that after becoming a lecturer, she has already determined what she wants to do in her tri dharma duties, particularly in research for scientific publications.
“We want to focus on what areas, what research topics. What we want to write about and research, that's it,” she revealed during an interview.
On the same occasion, Novita Sari, S.Sos., M.Kesos., also added that she plans to create innovative and engaging learning methods so students do not feel bored in class.
“If possible, we should teach in a way that prevents students from feeling bored,” Novita stated.
