Faculty of Social Science and Political Science
The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) has been an integral part of USU's academic life since 1959, providing seven undergraduate programs, five master's programs, and two doctoral programs, all of which are well accredited. FISIP USU focuses on developing social and political science, including analyzing political systems, power dynamics, government bureaucratic structures, and relevant social issues, with a practical and interactive learning approach. Managed by the best experts in the field of social and politics and supported by adequate facilities, we are committed to guiding our students to become experts in their fields and able to make a significant contribution to the development and governance of Indonesia. Graduates of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences have a variety of career prospects, including becoming social science academics, politicians, members of political parties, members of the House of Representatives, and various other professions related to public policy analysis and implementation.

To organize autonomy-based higher education, which serves as a platform for character development and human resource professionalism based on an empowering spirit of democratization of education that acknowledges diversity with an educational orientation that emphasizes the aspect of finding alternative solutions to actual problems based on scientific, moral and conscience studies.

To create graduates who become agents of change as a force of modernization in the life of the society as a whole, who have solid scientific competence, relevance and competitiveness, and who behave with ethical intellectualism.
Community Service
To implement, develop, and improve education, research culture and community service programs in order to improve academic quality by developing advanced knowledge, which is beneficial for changing people's lives for the better.
