Recruitment Selection Process for Permanent Faculty Positions at Universitas Sumatera Utara for 2025 Academic Year

Universitas Sumatera Utara is offering career opportunities to become a Permanent Lecturer at the Universitas Sumatera Utara (see document for positions available).
1. General Requirements:
1) Indonesian citizen;
2) Believes in God Almighty;
3) Maximum age of 45 (forty-five) years old for graduates of professional/master's/applied master's/specialist 1 (one) programs, and 50 (fifty) years old for graduates of doctoral/applied doctoral/specialist 2 (two) programs at the time of application;
4) Physically and mentally healthy, and does not consume/use narcotics, psychotropic substances, precursors, or other addictive substances;
5) Never convicted of a criminal offense resulting in imprisonment based on a court decision that has become final and binding;
6) Not bound by a contract as a permanent employee/lecturer at another institution;
7) Never dismissed without honor as a civil servant or as a private employee;
8) Have a high commitment to the development of USU;
9) Hold a master's degree/applied master's degree, doctorate/applied doctorate accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education/Independent Accreditation Agency with a minimum rating of B/Very Good in the field of study corresponding to the position, except where specific educational qualifications are required. For overseas graduates, professional/master's/applied master's/specialist 1 (one), doctoral/applied doctoral/specialist 2 (two) qualifications have been recognized by the relevant ministry;
10) For domestic graduates, a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.00 (on a 4-point scale) for professional/master's/applied master's/doctorate/applied doctorate/specialist degrees;
11) A minimum TOEFL score of 500 (five hundred) or equivalent;
12) Agree not to resign for 2 (two) years from the date of appointment as a Permanent Lecturer at USU. If resigning, must pay compensation of Rp100,000,000.00 (one hundred million rupiah);
2. Special Requirements:
1) For the Lecturer position in the professional program, must have a professional program qualification and/or a master's degree/applied master's degree/specialist degree and have at least 2 (two) years of work experience in the relevant field of study;
2) For specialist program lecturer positions, candidates must have a specialist program qualification level 2 (two) and have at least 2 (two) years of work experience in the relevant field of study;
3) For graduates of professional doctor/dentist/specialist programs, they must have an accredited educational qualification from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education/Independent Accreditation Agency;
4) They must possess the necessary skills, expertise, and competencies aligned with their field of work (attach supporting evidence, if available);
5) Preferably have international scientific publications of repute, accredited national scientific publications, or intellectual works protected by law (granted) amounting to 1 (one) intellectual property;
6) Be willing to continue education to the Master's/Doctoral level for graduates who only have professional/specialist qualifications must be willing to pursue further education at the Master's/Doctoral level within 1 (one) year of appointment. If they do not pursue further education at the Master's/Doctoral level, they must be willing to be dismissed as a Permanent Lecturer at USU.
3. Required Documents
Candidates for Permanent Lecturer positions at USU must complete and upload scanned copies of the original required documents as follows:
1) a cover letter addressed to the Rector of USU;
2) a resume;
3) an ID card;
4) a 3x4 cm passport-sized photo with a red background;
5) diplomas and transcripts for undergraduate, Master's, and Doctorate degrees. A Letter of Graduation Certification is only accepted for Master's and Doctorate degree graduates. For overseas graduates, a letter of equivalence from the relevant ministry is required, and the submission of transcripts may be waived if unavailable.
6) Diploma/professional certificate/specialist 1 (one) and transcripts for graduates of professional/specialist 1 (one) programs (as per the requirements of the position);
7) Diploma/certificate of appointment for graduates of a specialist 2 (two) program (as required by the position);
8) Proof of accreditation of the undergraduate/professional/master's/applied master's/specialist 1 (one)/doctoral/applied doctoral program in the year of graduation (for domestic graduates);
9) A statement letter subject to a fixed stamp duty of Rp10,000.00 (ten thousand)
as stated in the letter, declaring:
a. Never been sentenced to imprisonment or detention for committing a criminal offense punishable by imprisonment based on a court decision that has become final and binding;
b. Physically and mentally healthy;
c. Not bound by a contract as a permanent employee/lecturer at another institution;
d. Never dismissed without honor as a civil servant or private employee;
e. Does not consume/use narcotics, psychotropic substances, precursors, and other addictive substances;
f. Not a member or official of a political party and/or not involved in practical politics;
g. Have a strong commitment to the development of the University of North Sumatra;
h. Be willing not to resign for a period of 2 (two) years from the date of appointment as a Permanent Lecturer at USU, and if resigning, be willing to pay a penalty of Rp100,000,000.00 (one hundred million rupiah);
i. Be willing to produce at least 1 (one) reputable international scientific publication or accredited national scientific publication within 2 (two) years after being appointed as a Permanent Lecturer at USU; and
j. Be willing to continue education to the Master's/Doctoral level for graduates who only have professional/specialist qualifications, within 1 (one) year after appointment. If they do not continue their education to the Master's/Doctoral level, they are willing to be dismissed as a Permanent Lecturer at USU;
10) TOEFL certificate or equivalent with a minimum score of 500 (five hundred) or equivalent;
11) a certificate of expertise/skills (if any);
12) proof of scientific publications or intellectual property rights (if any); and
13) proof of at least 2 (two) years of work experience in the relevant field for the position of Lecturer in the professional/specialist program.
4. Registration Procedures:
1) Registration is open from July 1 to July 10, 2025, at 4:00 PM WIB
2) Candidates for permanent lecturer positions at USU must register and complete the required documents on the website https://rekrutmen.usu.ac.id by the specified deadline;
3) Proof of online registration will be sent to each applicant's email address.
5. Selection Process:
The selection process is conducted on a pass/fail basis at each stage, consisting of:
1) Administrative Screening;
2) Basic Competency Screening (SKD);
a. National Awareness Test;
b. General Intelligence Test; and
c. Personal Characteristics Test;
3) Field Competency Screening (SKB);
a. Essay
b. Interview
c. Teaching Practice
4) Psychological Test Selection
6. Announcement:
1) The results of the USU Permanent Lecturer selection will be announced by the selection committee on the website https://rekrutmen.usu.ac.id; and
2) The selection decision is final and binding.
