In 2022, they achieved third place in the 21st IMT-GT Varsity Carnival held in Wailak, Thailand. 22nd IMT-GT Varsity Carnival 2023

The Tenis Lapangan USU Student Activity Unit successfully won a bronze medal at the 2023 Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle (IMT-GT) international competition held at Universitas Syiah Kuala, Banda Aceh. This team represented USU in the sport of tennis and competed against participants from various universities in the three Asian countries. The IMT-GT competition, which serves as a meeting and sports and cultural event for the three Asian countries, attracted the participation of 603 individuals, consisting of 497 students and 106 officials. M. Hasian Muda Siregar, the Head of the Tenis Lapangan USU Student Activity Unit, revealed that the USU Tennis Team was successful against four universities, including Universiti Sains Malaysia, Universiti Teknologi MARA Arau, and Thaksin University, before finally having to settle for the bronze medal after losing to Universiti Utara Malaysia in the semifinals. Despite their successful achievement, the team also faced several obstacles, including an injury to one of the players. Additionally, weather conditions posed a challenge with continuous rain, requiring the team to move to a field quite far from Universitas Syiah Kuala. Nevertheless, this achievement showcases the dedication and strong fighting spirit of the Tenis Lapangan USU Student Activity Unit.
