“So efficiency is to make savings that have usually been used, for example yesterday electricity, water. For example, with the working hours that are carried out, 16:30 is finished, so the use of electricity will be minimal,” said VR II USU.

Public Relations USU - Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) conducts a routine Apel every Monday morning, led by Dr. Muhammad Arifin Nasution, S.Sos., M.SP. who serves as Vice Rector II for Human Resources and Finance. This apple discusses work time in line with budget efficiency, including operational and non-operational expenditures. It was held at the USU Rectorate Bureau Page, on Monday (17/02/2025).

In his mandate, VR II, Dr. Arifin, stated that the regulations regarding working hours have been contained in Chancellor's Regulation Number 21 of 2024 concerning Working Time for USU Education Personnel and noted in the Circular Letter Regarding the Application of Working Time for Education Personnel within USU Number 2251/UN5.3.4/KP/2025. These two regulations have been stated regarding the hours of entry, rest hours, and working hours every day.

The regulation stipulates working hours every Monday to Friday, starting at 08.00 WIB and ending at 16.30 WIB. In its implementation, Education Workers are encouraged to use resources such as electricity and water efficiently in daily activities. However, this efficiency will not significantly impact performance.

“So efficiency is to make savings that have usually been used, for example yesterday electricity, water. For example, with the working hours that are carried out, 16:30 is finished, so the use of electricity will be minimal,” said VR II USU.

VR II stated that Education Workers are asked to use office facilities wisely by prioritizing savings and using Zoom meetings to reduce the food and beverage consumption budget. Supporting equipment for meetings/meetings in the form of placards, banners, seminar packages (seminar kits), and the like should be provided selectively and as efficiently as possible. The use of digital banners can be an alternative solution to these needs.

“Meeting with the Zoom meeting method. So there is no need, for example, to gather people and then go shopping for food and drink,” he said.
