USU PR - Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) received a visit from the Committee of Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) and all staff, in organizing BPH Migas Goes to Campus entitled "A to Z About Downstream Oil and Gas Workshop on Social Media". The activity took place in the Prof. Dr. Suhadji Hadibroto Hall of FEB USU, on Tuesday (28/11/2023).

This activity was attended by 14 universities in North Sumatra, namely USU; UINSU; UISU; Prima University; Dharmawangsa University; Darma Agung University; Al-Washliyah Nusantara Muslim University; Santo Thomas Catholic University, Buddhi Dharma University; Harapan Medan University; Medan State Polytechnic; HKBP Nommensen University; UNIMED; Panca Budi University.

This socialization focuses on discussing the supervision program for subsidized fuel distribution and optimization of natural gas utilization in the country. Because it is important to maintain and monitor the sustainability of the program. For the distribution of subsidized fuel to be right on target, as well as to sensitize the public.

In his remarks, USU Rector Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin S.Sos., M.Si, represented by USU Vice Rector II for Human Resources and Finance, Muhammad Arifin Nasution, S.Sos., M.SP., appreciated the event, because it provided positive value and opportunities for students to get useful education and literacy, related to Downstream Oil and Gas Policy.

"Where we are here, the speakers who certainly have qualified competence and experience to discuss the theme," said WR II USU.

Furthermore, WR II USU expressed his hope that all the information shared in this activity could make a positive contribution by opening understanding, broadening horizons, and inspiring new ideas for all participants. Thus, this activity is not only a learning forum but also a vehicle for self-development for participants.

BPH Migas Committee, Basuki Trikora Putra emphasized the role of students as the young generation and the nation's successor in understanding and managing energy, especially gas and oil resources in Indonesia, by underlining the fact that Indonesia is an oil and gas producing country, but is facing a decline in production. Although Indonesia still has reserves, it is also necessary to pay attention to the increase in consumption.

"It is necessary for all Indonesian people, especially students to be more concerned about the utilization and use of fuel oil and gas," said Basuki.

Finally, Basuki Trikora Putra encouraged all people and students to be frugal in the use of energy to support the sustainability of these resources.

"So we must be economical in its use," said Basuki.
