USU PR - Rector of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin S.Sos., M.Si welcomed the opportunity to cooperate with PT Sinergi Gula Nusantara which was confirmed through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This cooperation was agreed upon in the Rector's Audience Room, USU Central Administration Bureau Building, on Monday (23/10/2023).
The scope of this Memorandum of Understanding will cover the field of education. Including the implementation of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) Program, research, development, and innovation, as well as student internships and community service.
In line with this, the USU Rector said that the signing of this MoU would facilitate the implementation of MBKM at USU, which is relevant to the implementation of the tridharma of higher education. So, in the future, the details of cooperation will be clarified through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA).
"We believe that the collaboration between PT Sinergi Gula Nusantara and USU will be improved and expanded in the future," said Prof. Muryanto.
Furthermore, Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin S.Sos., M.S hopes that this collaboration will open up new opportunities to increase the capacity and skills of USU graduates. Thus, USU can produce graduates who become a superior generation for the nation. A generation that is adaptable, independent, resilient, creative, and can problem-solve.
"We hope that the signing of this memorandum of understanding can provide new opportunities to increase the capacity and skills of USU graduates, becoming the nation's superior generation," hoped Prof. Muryanto.
To improve the relevance of education to industry needs, especially at the USU Faculty of Vocational Studies. Director of PT Sinergi Gula Nusantara, Dr. Suhendri, S.E., M.M. stated that this collaboration will provide internship opportunities and professionals who will be involved in teaching. Thus, the Faculty of Vocational Studies will adapt its curriculum in line with the demands of the industrial world.
"This step will bring improvements and modifications to vocational education to suit the evolving needs of the industry," explained Dr. Suhendri.
Dr. Suhendri, S.E., M.M. expressed his hope that this collaboration will produce quality graduates from the Faculty of Vocational Studies. In addition, Dr. Suhendri, S.E., M.M. expressed his readiness to immediately implement this collaboration and opened the door to receive students from the USU Faculty of Vocational Studies.
