Vice Rector I, Dr. Edy Ikhsan, explained that USU is in the 9th position for campuses that won funding this year. There were 98 PKM USU proposals from 15 faculties that received funding. The Faculty of Engineering and Mathematics and Natural Sciences managed to be the most, each contributing 25 PKM.
USU PR - Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) managed to be in the top 10 universities that received the most funding for the Student Creativity Program (PKM) nationally in 2023 from the Directorate General of Higher Education Research and Technology (Ditjen Diktiristek) of the Ministry of Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek).

The Faculty of Engineering and Mathematics and Natural Sciences were the most numerous, each contributing 25 PKMs.
"Followed by Psychology and Dentistry with 8 PKM. Then 4 PKMs from the Faculty of Economics and Business, Social Sciences and Political Sciences, 3 PKMs from the Faculty of Public Health, and the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology. Meanwhile, Forestry and Vocational Studies contributed 2 PKM, and the Faculty of Cultural Science and Pharmacy contributed 1 PKM each. In total, there are 98, "said Dr. Edy Ikhsan in his statement Monday (6/18/2023).
The Vice Rector I hope that the 98 PKMs that qualify for funding can excel in National Science Week (PIMNAS), a place to test students' competence and scientific creativity.
With PKM, students develop creativity and innovation through mastery of science, technology, and faith.
Students are encouraged to apply their abilities, skills, attitudes, and responsibilities to become scholars, entrepreneurs, and leaders. They can also develop teamwork and independence through creative activities related to their studies.
The Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs (BELMAWA) organizes the Student Creativity Program (PKM) Year 2023 to guide students to become individuals who know and obey the rules; and create innovative, cooperative objectives in building intellectual diversity.
PKM is grouped into 2 (two) PKM Funding, consisting of 8 PKM fields, namely PKM Research Exorcist (PKM-RE), PKM Humanities Social Research (PKM- RSH), PKM Entrepreneurship (PKM-K), PKM Community Service (PKM-PM), PKM Application of Science and Technology (PKM-PI), PKM Karsa Cipta (PKM-KC), PKM Innovative Works (PKM-KI) and PKM Constructive Video Ideas (PKM-VGK).
Then PKM Incentives, consisting of 2 PKM fields, namely PKM Constructive Futuristic Ideas (PKM-GFT) and PKM Scientific Articles (PKM-AI). (BR)
