USU Faculty of Nursing Receives Integrity Zone Benchmarking Visit from Universitas Samudra

USU PR – The Faculty of Nursing of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) received a benchmarking visit from the Integrity Zone Team of the Faculty of Science and Technology, Universitas Samudra, Aceh, on Monday (11/10/2025), at the Faculty of Nursing Hall, USU. This activity aimed to share experiences and best practices in implementing the Integrity Zone program toward a Corruption-Free Area (Wilayah Bebas dari Korupsi/WBK) within higher education institutions.
The visit was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Nursing of USU, Dr. Dudut Tanjung, S.Kp., M.Kep., Sp.KMB; the Vice Dean for Administration, Finance, Human Resources, and Assets, Cholina Trisa Siregar, Ns., M.Kep., Sp.KMB; as well as the leadership and lecturers of the Faculty of Nursing. From Universitas Samudra, the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology, Dr. Mastura, S.Si., M.Si., along with her team, was also present.
In his remarks, Dr. Dudut Tanjung expressed his appreciation for the trust placed by the Faculty of Science and Technology of Universitas Samudra in selecting the Faculty of Nursing of USU as a venue for sharing experiences related to the development of the Integrity Zone. He explained that the Faculty of Nursing of USU has been implementing the Integrity Zone program for the past three years and has successfully received the Corruption-Free Area (WBK) award from the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB).
“The development of the Integrity Zone is not merely an administrative program, but a comprehensive effort to instill values of integrity, accountability, and excellent service in every academic and administrative activity,” said Dr. Dudut.
“The success of the Faculty of Nursing of USU cannot be separated from the commitment of the entire academic community, who work with a strong spirit of change and high professionalism,” he added.
Meanwhile, Dr. Mastura expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome from the Faculty of Nursing of USU. She explained that this benchmarking visit serves as an initial step for her institution in learning about the implementation of the six areas of change within the Integrity Zone framework, ranging from governance procedures and human resource strengthening to improvements in public service delivery.
“We hope that through this activity, the Faculty of Science and Technology of Universitas Samudra can gain inspiration and guidance in building a governance system that is transparent, accountable, and oriented toward public service,” said Dr. Mastura.
On the same occasion, Cholina Trisa Siregar explained that the development of the Integrity Zone within the Faculty of Nursing focuses on two main aspects, namely corruption prevention and the improvement of public service quality. One of the flagship innovations developed is ASA (Academic System Application), which facilitates students in managing academic matters online through a fast and transparent process.
Through this activity, the Faculty of Nursing of USU reaffirmed its commitment to continuing to serve as a role model in the implementation of the Integrity Zone within Universitas Sumatera Utara. The faculty is determined to maintain its Corruption-Free Area (WBK) status while also inspiring other faculties to create an educational environment that is clean, ethical, and highly integrity-driven.
