Universitas Sumatera Utara once again held its morning assembly at the USU Rectorate Courtyard on Monday (25/05/2026). This routine activity served as an important momentum to reaffirm the university’s commitment to information transparency within the campus environment.
In her remarks, the Director of the Directorate of Public Relations, Promotion, and Protocol at USU, Elmeida Effendy, stated that in today’s era of digital transformation, information is no longer merely complementary, but a key pillar in building the image, trust, and reputation of an institution.
“Every work unit at USU is a center of information. Every activity, achievement, and service carried out holds important value for the public to know. Therefore, optimizing information services is not only the responsibility of the Directorate of Public Relations and Promotion, but also a shared responsibility of the entire academic community,” she stated.
She also encouraged all parties to actively support information management through proper documentation of activities, accurate data delivery, and professional service. Through these efforts, information services are expected to become a means of building collaboration, strengthening transparency, and providing better services for students, partners, and the wider community.
During an interview session after the assembly, Prof. Elmeida once again emphasized the importance of prioritizing public information transparency across all service units. According to her, transparency is a key factor in enhancing USU’s reputation in the public eye.
“Regardless of the division, everyone should be able to explain the information they manage responsibly, both regarding activities and achievements. In this way, the public will gain an accurate understanding and perception of USU,” she stressed.
At the end of her remarks, Elmeida Effendy also congratulated students who successfully passed the UTBK-SNBT selection process. She noted that the achievement was the result of hard work and encouraged them to prepare both physically and mentally in order to complete their studies optimally, on time, and with quality.
