USU PR - Rector of Universitas Sumatera Utara USU) Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos, M.Si with Representative Director of Earthwise Consulting Japan Yudai Tadaki, BSc signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Memorandum of Cooperation Agreement in the GBPA USU Audience Room, Thursday (06/04/2023).

 

The agreement concentrates on environmental issues and collaborates with the Undergraduate Program in Environmental Engineering of USU’s Faculty of Engineering. 


As explained by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering USU, Dr. Ir. Fahmi S.T., M.Sc., IPM, Earthwise Consulting provides pyrolysis, which will be used to manage waste in the campus environment.


"So we are working with Earthwise Consulting Japan. We got a tool called pyrolysis that will help us manage waste into energy sources," he explained.

 

Not only that, but later, the management of waste using pyrolysis is planned to also target the off-campus environment, especially in Medan. Based on the statement of the Dean of FT USU, this will soon be discussed with the Medan City Government.

 

"Later, we will develop it for the environment around us, including with the Medan City government," said Ir. Fahmi.

 

Before this program is offered to the Government of Medan, Yudai Tadaki will equip USU Environmental Engineering students directly while also considering the effectiveness of pyrolysis in managing waste.

 

According to the Representative Director of Earthwise Consulting Japan, Yudai Tadaki, BSc., the USU faculty and students have massive interest and enthusiasm for waste management.  He said that Medan has a promising future in terms of waste management. He also looks forward to other collaborations in the future.

 

"I think there is a lot of hope for a brighter future for waste management in Medan and future collaborations not only here but everywhere. Indonesia, and maybe internationally as well," said Yudai Tadaki. (Bambang Riyanto)
