"Today is the first day of UTBK held by LTMPT throughout Indonesia, and at USU, there are 37,871 participants," said USU VR 1 during the review.

PR USU - The Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) is one of the locations for the Computer-Based Written Examination (UTBK) held by the Test Institute of College Entry (LTMPT) throughout Indonesia. The implementation of the UTBK simultaneously officially started on Tuesday (17/05/2022).

The Rector of USU Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Sc. represented by the Vice-Rector (VR1) 1 USU, Dr. Edy Ikhsan SH., MA, as the Head in Charge of UTBK for the North Sumatra Region stated that there were 37,871 exam participants at USU which were divided into two waves. The first batch will be held from 17 to 23 May 2022, and the second batch from 28 May to 3 June 2022.

"Today is the first day of UTBK held by LTMPT throughout Indonesia, and at USU there are 37,871 participants," said USU VR 1 during the review.

Edy explained that the allocation of exams for participants taking UTBK at USU amounted to 2,424 seats, so the exam scheme was divided into morning and afternoon sessions. In addition, Edy Ikhsan explained that of the 37,871 participants, the field of Science and Technology (Saintek) dominated with 19 thousand registrants.

"The list of participants is divided into three, 19,704 were selected for Saintek, while 14,683 for Soshum, and 3,484 mixed," explained Edy Ikhsan.

He explained that Communication Studies, Law, and Management are still the favorite majors in the Soshum field. Meanwhile, the most popular majors in the field of Science and Technology are Medicine, Pharmacy, and Dentistry.

For information, USU also has an achievement pathway scheme for prospective students who have achievements in the arts, culture, sports, and spirituality which is expected to open at the end of May or early June.

"So for students who have achievements in arts and culture, sports, and spirituality. For example, Islam can memorize 10 juz of the Koran, 15 juz, and 20 juz can follow it," he said.

Previously, the USU Leaders, together with the USU UTBK SBMPTN Committee reviewed several test locations, including the Information System Center, Faculty of Business Economics, Faculty of Dentistry and SMAN 1 Medan.

Also attending the review were VR II Muhammad Arifin Nasution S.Sos., M.SP, VR IV Prof. Dr. Drs. Opim Salim Sitompul M.Sc, VR V Ir. Luhut Sihombing MP, Director of the Directorate of Educational Development Muhammad Anggia Muchtar ST., MMIT., Secretary of the Directorate of Educational Development Reni Asmara Ariga S.Kp., MARS., Head of Priority Program Evaluation Agency Ikhsan Siregar ST., M.Eng., Head of Public Relations, Protocol and Promotion Amalia Meutia, M.Psi., Psychologist, Head of the Integrated Service Unit, drg. Siti Salmiah Sp.KGA, and the USU UTBK Committee Dr. Rulianda Purnomo Wibowo SP., M.Ec.
