Medan - Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) officially announced the names of the elected members of the Board of Trustees (MWA) for the period 2025-2030 through two plenary sessions held on April 17, 2025 for the MWA USU Academic Senate Representative (SA) and April 22, 2025 for the MWA USU Community Representative.
The Chairman of the MWA Election Committee, Dr. Muhammad Anggia Muchtar, ST., MM made this announcement.IT, Tuesday (22/04/2025). For MWA USU SA Representatives, 8 (eight) MWA members were elected from 14 candidates for MWA members who passed verification. The eight elected MWA members are Erlina, Erman Munir, Husni Thamrin, Inke Nadia Diniyanti Lubis, Indra Chahaya, Nazaruddin, Seri Maulina, and Tamrin.
For the USU Board of Trustees of Community Representatives, 10 (ten) members were elected from 19 prospective members who passed verification with diverse professional backgrounds, ranging from government, academia, the business world, to professionals. The ten people are Abdul Haris, Agus Andrianto, Aminuddin Ma'ruf, Andrew Bingei Purba Siboro, Fadhullah, Harmen Saputra, Mahmud Nazly Harahap, Mohammad Abdul Ghani, Musa Idishah, and Nixon Lambok Pahotan Napitupulu.

MWA USU has 21 members, including the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology (ex-officio), the Rector, 8 (eight) SA Representatives, and 11 (eleven) Community Representatives, including the Governor of North Sumatra (ex-officio) and 10 Trustees from the plenary session of the Academic Senate.
As the highest strategic decision-making body in the university, the MWA has a central role in determining the direction of long-term policies and supervision of university autonomy. The existence of MWA members who are competent, have integrity, and have a strong national vision is very important to ensure accountable and meritocracy-based university governance.
