“In accordance with the theme raised in this activity, assembling creative works for BEM SI Sumbagut progressive I mean as students who create innovations. In my opinion, creative works are innovations. So through this activity I encourage students to improve their innovations," said the USU Rector.
The Rector of USU added that current students are the resources needed by the state. According to him, students must be able to have a broad and real impact on community development.
“Being a student who innovates means being able to make an impact. I underline, that student must be able to do two things, namely playing a role in the progress of the nation, and also playing a role in solving community social problems. Innovation is at least leading to these two things," said Muryanto.

“We in the Medan City Government need the presence of students. We are very open to the presence of students to collaborate with us in building the City of Medan. Please join hands to collaborate to solve the problems that exist in the city of Medan," said Bobby.
He also mentioned that students should be at the forefront to invite people to rise up in the current difficult situation. Bobby emphasized that the Covid-19 pandemic was not an obstacle to rise, but rather a power to be turned into an innovation.
Confirmed at the event, USU's Student President, M Rizki Fadilah, said there were at least 12 BEMs who would join the activity. The BEM who attended came from four provinces, namely Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, and Riau. The activity was held on 23-25 September 2021 at the USU Faculty of Pharmacy Hall.
“At least we will discuss three agendas in this Regional Work Meeting, namely consolidation, discussing the formulation of BEM SI Sumbagut activities, and responding to developing regional issues," said Rizki. (RR/©ULC)
