LAMPTKes Encourages USU Medical Doctoral Program to Have International Reputation

The assessment aims to ensure the quality of the medical education doctoral program carried out by LAMPTKes as an external quality insurance party. This was conveyed by the Head of the Doctoral Program in Medical Sciences, Dr. dr. Muhammad Ruada, M.Ked.(O.G), Sp.O.G.(K).
PR USU - Independent Accreditation Institute for Health Higher Education (LAMPTKes) conducted a field assessment of the Doctoral Study Program in Medical Sciences at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU). The activity took place in the Hall of the Faculty of Medicine on Monday (7/11/2022).
The assessment aims to ensure the quality of the medical education doctoral program carried out by LAMPTKes as an external quality insurance party. This was conveyed by the Head of the Doctoral Program in Medical Sciences, Dr. dr. Muhammad Ruada, M.Ked.(O.G), Sp.O.G.(K).
"Well, the external quality assurance system is managed in this case LAMPTKes, so the arrival of the two assessors is in order to guarantee the quality of this medical education doctoral education will be better in the future," he said.
Doctor Muhammad Ruada also said that LAMPTKes is an institution that has been recognized by the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) as an accredited institution of international repute.
"More than that, LAMPTKes itself has also been recognized by WFME as an accreditation agency with an international reputation," Dr. Ruada said.
He hopes that the Doctoral Degree in Medical Sciences from USU's Faculty of Medicine will become one of the doctor's education programs in Indonesia with an international reputation. Therefore, stakeholders can make an optimal contribution in order to have a positive impact on Doctoral Medicine. "So that the Doctoral in Medical Sciences becomes one of the doctor's educations in Indonesia with an international reputation," he added.
In line with that, one of the Assessor Team, Dr. dr. Felicia Kurniawan, M.Kes explained, the purpose of this assessment is to clarify whether the things written by the study program on the LKPS are or are not in accordance with the practice.
"The goal, as I said, is to clarify that what has been written in the LKPS submitted by the study program to LAMPTKES is in accordance with the actual practice here," doctor Felicia mentioned.
Doctor Felcia hopes that USU's Doctor of Medical Sciences can become a center in Indonesia, especially in the western part of Indonesia, so that medical doctoral education can be evenly distributed throughout Indonesia. (©ULC)
