USU PR -Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) again received a visit from the Indonesian Higher Education Health Self-Accreditation Agency (LAM-PTKes) in the context of a field assessment of the Surgical Specialist Study Program, Faculty of Medicine / Fakultas Kedokteran (FK) which took place at the FK USU’s 3rd Floor Hall, on Tuesday-Friday (18-21/07/2023).
USU Rector Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin S.sos., M.Si welcomed the arrival of 2 assessor teams from LAM-PTKes, namely Dr. dr. Hamzah, Sp. An, KNA, KIC and Dr. dr. Anak Agung Gde Oka, Sp U (K).
"First of all, I would like to express my gratitude and welcome to the LAM-PTKes Accreditation Assessor Team for attending the Field Assessment activities," said Prof. Mury.
The USU Rector, in his speech, stated that accreditation is an affirmation of the position of superior higher education educational institutions, which can provide confidence to the public in the achievement of educational dedication. Therefore, the USU Rector appreciated the various achievements of the Faculty of Medicine’s Surgical Science Specialist Study Program.

In line with that, the Dean of FK USU, Prof. Dr. dr. Aldy Safruddin Rambe Sp.S (K) is optimistic that the FK USU Surgical Specialist Study Program will obtain superior accreditation results to produce the best graduates with superior competence. Of course, by accelerating the transformation in improving the academic service sectors.
"We hope, and we are sure, to get recommendations from our respected assessors, which will become a reference in improving academic service sectors continuously to produce graduates with superior and best competencies," said Prof. Aldy—one of the assessors, Dr. dr. Anak Agung Gde Oka, Sp U (K). revealed that the report had been completed satisfactorily by the FK USU Surgical Specialist Study Program. However, field visitation is still needed to complete the written report for maximum results.
"The report is good, but there are some things that we have to pay attention to again in the field. to complete what is not complete in the report. So that later we will get maximum results," explained Dr Agung.
Dr. dr. Hamzah, Sp. An, KNA, KIC also as an assessor, hopes that the results of the assessment of the visitation of the FK USU Surgical Specialist Study Program can meet all the necessary data. So that later it will get proud results, by paying attention to the realisation of Tri Dharma related to education.
"We assess all results or related to education. We hope that accreditation will increase and we photograph what has been done by the Surgical Specialist Study Programme," explained Dr Hamzah.
