In his remarks, the Rector of the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si highlighted the learning crisis experienced by Indonesia over the last 20 years based on the PISA test indicators. Based on the test, it is known that Indonesia has not experienced an increase in learning over the last 10-20 years and 70 percent of students aged 15 years are under general competence.

PR USU - Four USU Professors, namely Prof. Dr. dr. Blondina Marpaung, Sp.PD, KR. from the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ilmi, M.Sc. from the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Juliati Br. Tarigan, S.Si., M.Sc. and Prof. Dr. Dra Erna Frida, M.Sc. from USU's FMIPA was confirmed. The inauguration was held at the USU Auditorium on Monday (15/08).

In his remarks, the Rector of the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si highlighted the learning crisis experienced by Indonesia over the last 20 years based on the PISA test indicators. Based on the test, it is known that Indonesia has not experienced an increase in learning over the last 10-20 years and 70 percent of students aged 15 years are under general competence.

Responding to this issue, according to the Rector, the only way to get out of the crisis and become a sociopreneur university is to ensure the speed you have in solving problems in managing education. "Because the speed is the capital to win in the competition," said the Rector of USU.

Overcoming the issue of the education crisis, the Rector said he would provide open access for the community and then implement learning methods and modify learning.

According to the Rector of USU, the most important contribution of Tri Dharma that must be given by professors, such as helping to become an example so that learning methods are changed, better publications, and research has indications of change for the community.

"The Tri Dharma is the most important thing to do in order to help become an example so that learning methods are changed, the publications are better," he said.

The Rector of USU also said that USU had several efforts to encourage lecturers to become professors, including by conducting research, publications, innovations, and guiding them to work on achievement documents.

"Reminding them to do their job, for example doing research, publication, innovation," he said.

In reading the curriculum vitae which was read by the Vice Rector I, Dr. Edy Ikhsan, SH., MA, stated that Prof. Dr. dr. Blondina Marpaung, Sp.PD, KR., won an award in researching the composition of uric acid rheumatic drugs containing sidaguri leaf extract and the title of his inaugural speech was The Role of Dermatology in Public Health Challenges and Hopes in the Future.
