This article discusses a community service program in Jati Subdistrict, Medan Maimun, focusing on waste management through the establishment of a waste bank. The community service program conducted in Jati Subdistrict, Medan Maimun District, focuses on waste management. The community needs to develop the ability to implement proper waste management systems, including sorting waste by material type, recycling waste into useful products, developing businesses through the establishment of waste banks, implementation processes, and performance indicators for marketing recycled products. The current condition of the community in Jati Subdistrict still requires improvements in waste management practices to comply with the standards and regulations stipulated in Law No. 18 of 2008 on Waste Management.

The objective of this training activity is to improve the skills, knowledge, and understanding of the community in Jati Subdistrict, Medan Maimun District, regarding the establishment of waste banks to manage and process household waste into products with economic value. This initiative not only reduces waste but also enhances community welfare.

The methods used in this activity include socialization of waste bank establishment, training on creating and managing waste banks, training on processing waste into marketable products with economic value, as well as monitoring and evaluation.

The results of this community partnership program are expected to improve residents’ abilities in waste management through waste banks. Furthermore, the community is expected to produce useful goods and products, which in turn can create business opportunities and improve family welfare.
