USU PR – Vice Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Wamendiktisaintek) Stella Christie ensured that flood disaster assistance distributed through the USU Peduli Post was running smoothly and reaching beneficiaries without obstacles.
This was directly confirmed by Vice Minister Stella, who monitored the distribution of aid in Medan starting Friday (5/12/2025) at the USU Peduli Post, located at the former Bank Sumut Office, Gate III of USU.
Accompanied by USU Vice Rector II Dr. Muhammad Arifin Nasution, S.Sos., M.S.P., and University Secretary Prof. Dr. dr. Muhammad Fidel Ganis Siregar, M.Ked(OG), Sp.O.G., Subsp.F.E.R., Vice Minister Stella was seen actively supervising the aid packages to be distributed by the USU Peduli Team to several locations.
Kemendiktisaintek itself, through Vice Minister Stella, also provided assistance amounting to IDR 60,000,000 in the form of basic food packages, IDR 43,350,440 for the provision of generators in Kuala Simpang, and IDR 108,000,000 in the form of milk, clothing, diapers, mats, mattresses, and other essential needs.
During her visit to the USU Peduli Post, which was welcomed by USU Rector Prof. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si., Vice Minister Stella emphasized that the academic community must actively contribute to easing the burden of communities affected by floods and landslides. “An impactful campus must be proven through real action on the ground,” she asserted.
She also conveyed her deepest condolences to the victims and expressed hope that the affected communities would remain patient and resilient in facing these hardships.
In addition to distributing assistance through the USU Peduli Team, Vice Minister Stella also ensured that Kemendiktisaintek aid was distributed to Central Tapanuli and Sibolga. The assistance consisted of 2.9 tons of relief goods, including 500 kilograms of medicines.
Furthermore, Vice Minister Stella also officially dispatched eight doctors and nurses from Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) who will serve for one week at several disaster response posts across Sumatra.
