USU Receives Visit for ZI-WBK from Ditjen Dikti

USU PR– Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) once again received a visit from the Bureaucracy Team of the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology (Ditjen Dikti Ristek) for the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Visit of the Corruption-Free Zone Integrity Area (ZI-WBK). The event occurred in the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) Hall on Tuesday (Mar. 3)


Director of the Directorate of Bureaucratic Reform and Transformation of USU, Dr. Nurman Achmad, M.Soc.Sc., emphasized that the main focus of developing the integrity zone is improving university governance and public service quality. Routine evaluations are carried out on operational procedures to ensure compliance with current conditions and stakeholder needs.


“Through this ZI-WBK, we want to improve the quality of public services and the culture of excellent service that we must start cultivating now,” said Dr. Nurman.


The development of ZI-WBK also aims to reduce unethical practices such as corruption, collusion, and nepotism. In line with this, Dr. Nurman Achmad, M.Soc.Sc. explained the regulations regarding the practice of gratification in higher education. Although the certificate from the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (Kemenpan RB) is a bonus, the effort is a long journey that strengthens the integrity of the university.


“Here, we must always routinely evaluate our SOPs to see if our work methods have met the expectations of stakeholders or not,” explained Dr. Nurman.


Secretary of the Bureaucratic Reform and Integrity Zone Team, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Muhammad Ali Akbar S.E, M.B.A. stated that the development of the integrity zone is not limited to the work team but involves all levels, from the top leadership to other superiors so that it can provide the best service to students, alumni, parents, and the wider community.


“The Corruption-Free Zone Integrity Area requires a comprehensive approach, where each part of the faculty plays a role in providing the best service to stakeholders,” said Ali.


The main focus is to achieve the main performance indicators towards the predicate of Bureaucracy-Free Zone and Serving Zone (WBBM), with the main concept centered on student services. Therefore, the Dean of the Faculty of Nursing USU, Dr. Dudut Tanjung. S.Kp., M.Kep., Sp.KMB. is committed to following visitors' advice and recommendations to create a comfortable campus environment supporting student learning.


“We feel the support and guidance from the USU Rector. We feel our main users are students, so we focus on serving them well,” explained Dr. Dudut.
