PR USU - Faculty of Medicine (FK) Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held an event to hand over the certificate of expertise of dermatology and veneorology specialists. The event took place at the Tiara Convention Center Ballroom Kutaraja on Tuesday (7/12/2022).

Four dermatology and veneorology specialists were appointed including, dr. Benjamin R.R. Lumban Tobing, M.Ked(DV), Sp.DV who is an alumni of 234, dr. Ami Utamiati, M.Ked(DV), Sp.DV alumni 235, dr. Puspita Sari Rambe, M.Ked(DV), Sp. DV alumni 236, and dr. Puteri Wulandari, M.Ked(DV), Sp.DV alumni 237.

Vice Rector I for Academic, Student and Alumni Affairs at USU Dr. Edy Ikhsan, SH, MA explained that this event was an inauguration as well as the submission of competency certification for 4 specialists in dermatology and veneorology. According to Dr. Edy, this event was a happy moment, especially for the 4 specialist doctors who were appointed.

"This is a joyful moment for the 4 dermatologists and phenoorology doctors who have today been inaugurated and certified their competence as specialists," said Dr. Eddy.

In his speech Dr. Edy Ikhsan explained that the submission of this certification should be appreciated because it is an official recognition of one's professionalism and competence as a specialist.

"The provision of expertise is an official recognition of professionalism for the competences possessed as a specialist doctor where it is believed that this ability has considerable benefits in efforts to treat public health disorders," he said.

WR I hopes that the new specialist doctors will maintain the good name of USU, then be able to make a concrete contribution to the advancement of the medical field in their specialization, and always be connected with USU as part of the network between alumni and their alma mater.

In line with this, the Head of the Study Program of the Department of Dermatology and Venereology, dr. Ariyati Yosi, Mked(KK), SpKK(K), FINSDV, FAADV hope that specialist doctors can help the development of USU.

"We hope that all of our alumni, as you said, will always remember us, maybe even help us to further develop this beloved university," dr. Ariyati said.

As additional information, the event included the appearance of the USU FK DV Choir singing the opening song entitled "Gaudeamus Igitur" and accompanying the procession of handing over mementos with the song of Hymn Guru. (©ULC)
