Universitas Sumatera Utara is collecting data from prospective students whose DTSEN status has changed as part of a proposal for additional KIP Kuliah quotas in 2026. The initiative aims to support equitable access to higher education while ensuring that scholarship administration is conducted in accordance with government regulations.
HUMAS USU – Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) is conducting data collection for prospective students admitted for the 2026 Academic Year whose status has changed in the National Socioeconomic Single Data System (DTSEN). This initiative follows a letter from the Center for Higher Education Financing and Assessment of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (No. 492/DST/F2/LP.01.01/2026, dated 15 June 2026) regarding the proposal for additional quotas due to changes in the non-eligible status of KIP Kuliah applicants in the 2026 National Student Admission Selection.
Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Alumni Relations, Prof. Dr. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, S.Si., M.Si., Apt., explained that the data collection is intended for prospective students admitted through the National Selection Based on Achievement (SNBP) and the National Selection Based on Test (SNBT) pathways who meet specific requirements.
“This data collection is a follow-up to the government’s policy regarding changes in DTSEN status. We encourage prospective students who meet the requirements to confirm their data and submit the necessary documents within the specified timeline,” she stated.
Prospective USU students admitted through the SNBP or SNBT 2026 pathways may participate in this data collection if they meet the following criteria:
- Have been officially admitted to USU through the SNBP or SNBT 2026 pathways and have completed new student registration according to university regulations.
- Are registered applicants for the 2026 KIP Kuliah Program, possess an active account, and have completed the required documents on the KIP Kuliah website.
- Have a DTSEN decile status between 1 and 4 that has been synchronized with their KIP Kuliah account.
Prospective students who meet these requirements are encouraged to confirm their information and submit the required supporting documents. The process includes:
- Confirming personal data online through the university-provided form.
- Uploading the following supporting documents:
- 2026 KIP Kuliah Participant Card.
- Proof of DTSEN decile status from the KIP Kuliah system account.
- Submitting all required documents no later than 25 June 2026 at 11:59 PM WIB.
- Completing the entire process online, as physical document submissions will not be accepted.
Prof. Poppy emphasized that the collected data will serve as the basis for USU’s proposal for an additional quota of prospective KIP Kuliah recipients for 2026. However, the final decision regarding scholarship recipients remains under the authority of the ministry.
“We would like to emphasize that this data collection is part of the proposal process for KIP Kuliah recipient quotas. The final determination and selection of KIP Kuliah recipients remain entirely under the authority of the Center for Higher Education Financing and Assessment of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology,” she explained.
Through this initiative, USU reaffirms its commitment to supporting inclusive and equitable access to higher education for students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds while ensuring that the KIP Kuliah administrative process is carried out in accordance with applicable regulations.
