MEDAN – USU Public Relations: Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) has admitted 2,614 prospective new students out of a total of 33,096 applicants through the 2026/2027 Academic Year Seleksi Nasional Berdasarkan Prestasi (SNBP) pathway. In accordance with the official schedule, SNBP results were announced on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at 3:00 PM (WIB) via https://snbp.usu.ac.id.

This information was conveyed by USU Vice Rector I, Prof. Dr. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, S.Si., M.Si., Apt., in an official statement released shortly after the announcement of the SNBP 2026 results.

This year, USU recorded a significant increase in SNBP applicants compared to 2025, which saw 31,900 applicants. A total of 22,571 applicants selected USU as their first choice, while 16,543 applicants placed USU as their second choice. The most popular study programs among SNBP 2026 applicants at USU were the Bachelor’s programs in Law, Management, and Pharmacy. Meanwhile, the Mining Engineering program ranked among the top 10 most competitive programs nationwide.

Referring to a statement from the Head of the National New Student Admission Selection Committee 2026, the Vice Rector I emphasized that applicants who have been accepted through the SNBP pathway are not eligible to register for the Computer-Based Written Test for the National Selection Based on Tests (UTBK-SNBT) 2026 or the Independent Admission pathway. Therefore, successful applicants are required to promptly complete academic data verification and re-registration from April 1 to April 7, 2026. The submission of required data and document uploads must be completed online via https://registrasi.usu.ac.id.

Applicants admitted through the SNBP 2026 pathway who fail to complete the required reporting process within the specified schedule may have their admission revoked and will not be eligible to apply for the SNBT 2026 or Independent Admission pathways at any public university.

During the academic verification and re-registration process, admitted applicants are required to present original report cards, original achievement documents, original diplomas or graduation certificates (SKL), and fulfill other requirements set by the respective university. For applicants who applied for the Kartu Indonesia Pintar Kuliah (KIP Kuliah) scholarship, economic verification will also be conducted based on submitted documents and/or field visits.

The Vice Rector I also encouraged applicants who were not admitted through SNBP 2026 not to lose hope, as there are still opportunities to enroll at USU through two other pathways: UTBK-SNBT and the Independent Admission Selection (SMM). These pathways provide opportunities for high school graduates to fill the remaining quotas at USU. Registration for the UTBK-SNBT at USU has been open from March 25 to April 7, 2026, with the examination scheduled to take place from April 21 to April 30, 2026. The results will be announced on May 25, 2026.

Furthermore, the Vice Rector I emphasized that during the upcoming UTBK-SNBT, all participants are expected to comply with all established regulations and must not attempt any form of cheating. USU will implement strict supervision to ensure there is no opportunity for misconduct. Participants are not allowed to bring items unrelated to the examination. Violations of these rules may result in disqualification from the exam and cancellation of participant status.
