MEDAN – USU PR: Pramuka Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU Scouts) held ACEHKUAT 2026 (Asah Cinta, Eratkan Harapan, Kebersamaan untuk Aksi Tangguh Tahun 2026) on January 10–11, 2026, in Bandar Mahligai Village, Sekerak District, Aceh Tamiang Regency. The activity aimed to provide moral support and bring hope and joy to communities affected by flooding.
ACEHKUAT 2026 was initiated by the desire of USU Scouts to provide more sustainable assistance, not merely distributing logistical aid and then leaving the area. This activity marked the eighth action of the USU Scouts Disaster Response Team in Aceh Tamiang Regency, following seven previous aid missions conducted through four main distribution waves and three follow-up assistance distributions.
During the program, USU Scouts conducted open donations from various parties. The assistance collected included goats, copies of the Qur’an and Iqra books, school supplies, kitchen spices, and wearable clothing from donors and the USU Peduli Post. The PP IKA USU also participated by donating goats, which were cooked and shared with the community on the first evening of the event.
ACEHKUAT 2026 was carried out with an overnight stay concept alongside residents to build closeness and togetherness. On the first day, the team conducted environmental clean-up activities at SMPN 2 Kejuruan Muda before heading to Bandar Mahligai Village. Upon arrival, activities continued with cooking and having dinner together with residents, a group screening of the film Laskar Pelangi, and a night reflection session.
On the second day, Sunday (11/1), the program began with morning exercise sessions with children and mothers of Bandar Mahligai Village. It continued with various children’s competitions, including tahfiz (Qur’an memorization), coloring, poetry, and quiz contests. The team also cleaned Masjid Al-Hidayah, which served as the activity post. The series of events concluded with the handover of Qur’an copies, Iqra books, and Yasin books to the mosque administrators, as well as the distribution of school supplies and reading books to the community.
The residents of Bandar Mahligai Village warmly welcomed the implementation of ACEHKUAT 2026 and participated enthusiastically in the entire series of activities. The Coordinator of the USU Scouts Disaster Response Team stated that the community felt the program helped divert their thoughts and provided comfort following the floods that had struck their area.
USU Scouts hope that ACEHKUAT 2026 will create a positive impact, particularly in restoring the spirit and optimism of the community. Through this initiative, USU Scouts reaffirm their commitment to continue taking action and being present among communities as long as they are entrusted to channel humanitarian assistance.
