USU PR — Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) has opened Open Recruitment for USU Care Volunteers as part of its efforts to expand public involvement in humanitarian actions for communities affected by disasters in Aceh and North Sumatra. This program serves as a platform for anyone who wishes to contribute directly by providing tangible assistance amid emergency situations and post-disaster recovery.

Through USU Care Volunteers, participants will be involved in various humanitarian activities, ranging from the distribution of logistical aid and community assistance at affected locations to support for social and health services in accordance with field needs. The presence of volunteers is expected to strengthen the reach of assistance and ensure that disaster response efforts are carried out quickly, in a coordinated manner, and accurately targeted.

The Rector of USU, Prof. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si., called on the involvement of various parties to work together in helping communities affected by disasters. “We need support and collaboration from many elements so that assistance can reach wider areas and be precisely targeted. USU opens space for participation through USU Care Volunteers, because in situations like this, shared solidarity and care are the main strengths in accelerating community recovery,” he stated.

USU emphasized that every form of concern holds significant meaning. One small step taken together can become a great source of hope for communities struggling to recover from the impacts of disasters. The spirit of mutual cooperation and solidarity serves as the main foundation of the USU Care Volunteers’ movement in accompanying affected communities.
