National Test-Based Selection (SNBT)
About SNBT
SNBT (National Selection Based on Test) is a national selection system for new student admissions to replace SBMPTN (Joint Selection for State Universities). In the SNBT pathway, state universities use a national written exam pattern. In the 2025/2026 Academic Year, students who obtain a high school / MA / SMK certificate are entitled to choose to continue their studies at the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), both in undergraduate and diploma programs through UTBK (Computer-Based Written Test) selection. SNBT registration stages in 2026 are expected to be the same as in previous years, but the implementation of UTBK this year will be carried out in only one wave, although the details are still subject to change in accordance with the SNBT committee's policy.
Currently, the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) provides a minimum of 30% of the total capacity of undergraduate and diploma programs through the SNBT route.
Participant Requirements
- Participants must have an SNPMB Student Account. Registration for the SNPMB Student Account can be done at{' '} SNPMB Portal .
- Indonesian citizens (WNI) who have a National Identification Number (NIK).

Senior High School/Vocational High School/Islamic Senior High School (SMA/SMK/MA) students or equivalent in their final year in 2026, or Package C students in 2026 with a maximum age of 25 years (as of July 1, 2026).
Students who do not yet have a diploma must bring a certificate of being a grade 12 student at least accompanied by:- identification including name, class, NISN, and NPSN;
- a recent (colored) photograph;
- signature of the School/Madrasah Principal; and
- school stamp/seal.
- Graduates of SMA/SMK/MA or equivalent from 2024 and 2025, or Package C graduates from 2024 and 2025 with a maximum age of 25 years (as of July 1, 2026).
- Graduates of senior high schools or equivalent from abroad must have a diploma that has been officially equalized.
- Participants applying to study programs in the fields of Arts and/or Sports must upload a portfolio.
- Must be in adequate health condition so as not to interfere with the study process.
- Blind participants are required to upload a Blindness Statement Letter.
- Pay the UTBK fee (Except for KIP-Kuliah participants).
Requirements
General Terms
- SNBT participants are only allowed to take the UTBK 2026 once.
- UTBK 2026 results are only valid for SNBT participation and admission to PTN in 2026.
- The 2026 SNBT selection is based on UTBK 2026 results, and includes a portfolio requirement for participants applying to art and/or sports study programs.
- Students who have already been admitted through SNBP 2026, SNBP 2025, or SNBP 2024 are not eligible to participate in SNBT 2026.
Study Program Options
- Each participant is free to choose a study program at PTN Akademik and/or PTN Vokasi.
- Each participant is allowed to choose a maximum of 4 (four) study programs with the provisions as attached table.
- The order of the study program selection indicates the priority of choice.

- 1 Bachelor’s Degree; or
- 1 Diploma Four/Applied Bachelor; or
- 1 Diploma Three.

Choice Requirements: Free to choose any program
Example Alternatives of Study Program Choices:
- 2 Bachelor’s Degrees; or
- 1 Bachelor’s Degree and 1 Diploma Four/Applied Bachelor; or
- 1 Bachelor’s Degree and 1 Diploma Three; or
- 2 Diploma Four/Applied Bachelor; or
- 2 Diploma Three; or
- 1 Diploma Four/Applied Bachelor and 1 Diploma Three.
Number of Choices: 3 Study Program Choices
Choice Requirements:
2 academic programs and 1 vocational program or
1 academic program and 2 vocational programs; or
3 vocational programs with at least 1 Diploma Three study program
Example Alternatives of Study Program Choices:
- 2 Bachelor’s Degrees and 1 Diploma Four/Applied Bachelor; or
- 2 Bachelor’s Degrees and 1 Diploma Three; or
- 1 Bachelor’s Degree and 2 Diploma Four/Applied Bachelor; or
- 1 Bachelor’s Degree and 2 Diploma Three; or
- 1 Bachelor’s Degree, 1 Diploma Four/Applied Bachelor, and 1 Diploma Three; or
- 2 Diploma Four/Applied Bachelor and 1 Diploma Three; or
- 3 Diploma Three.
Number of Choices: 4 Study Program Choices
Choice Requirements:
2 academic programs and 2 vocational programs with at least 1 Diploma Three study program; or
1 academic program and 3 vocational programs with at least 1 Diploma Three study program;

- 2 Bachelor’s Degrees, 1 Diploma Four/Applied Bachelor, and 1 Diploma Three; or
- 2 Bachelor’s Degrees and 2 Diploma Three; or
- 1 Bachelor’s Degree, 2 Diploma Four/Applied Bachelor, and 1 Diploma Three; or
- 1 Bachelor’s Degree, 1 Diploma Four/Applied Bachelor, and 2 Diploma Three; or
- 1 Bachelor’s Degree and 3 Diploma Three.
