PMM USU Student Activity Unit

The Pengabdian Masyarakat Mahasiswa (PMM) USU Student Activity Unit, initially named Ikatan Mahasiswa Peduli Masyarakat (IMPM) USU, was established based on USU students' concern for the local and national community. This student activity unit has been officially recognized since at least 2014 under the name IMPM. Periodically, they often engage in community work and conservation activities in villages that require assistance, particularly in the North Sumatra region, as they did in the past in 2021 when they visited Sei Bamban Village, North Sumatra. Joining PMM USU can be a platform for USU students to learn to help each other and build relationships with new people.

The Pengabdian Masyarakat Mahasiswa (PMM) USU Student Activity Unit regularly organizes blood donation activities, as carried out on October 24, 2021, with the theme "A Blood is A Gift to be Given." This annual event takes place at the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Blood Transfusion Unit in Medan and is attended by members of PMM USU and the general public. The main objective of this activity is to help meet the blood needs at the PMI Blood Transfusion Unit in Medan and raise awareness among the public about the importance of becoming blood donors. Health screenings on the donors were conducted before the blood donation process, and even though some donors did not meet the health requirements, the event still ran successfully. Most recently, the activity was conducted again on Saturday, May 14, 2022, in collaboration with the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) at the PMI Blood Transfusion Unit in Medan. This activity is part of the PMM USU Student Activity Unit's routine annual work program, with the aim of encouraging members and the general public to contribute to those in need. In this event, PMM USU involves the community by inviting families or friends, spreading flyers through the PMM USU Instagram page, and collaborating with media partners to disseminate information. The activity received positive responses from various parties and successfully collected 25 blood bags.
