Marching Band USU Student Activity Unit
Marching Band USU is one of the student activity units at USU that focuses on the field of music. Established in 2012, this student activity unit has participated in several national competitions and has achieved prestigious accomplishments in Indonesia, such as the Bandung Marching Band Championship X 2019. The Marching Band USU Student Activity Unit is a suitable platform for students to experience real organizational work and the arts as well as sports.

Bandung Marching Band Championship 2019
Marching Band Universitas Sumatera Utara (MB USU), with a blazing spirit of determination, achieved brilliant success at the Bandung Marching Band Championship on October 12–13, 2019. About 40 members of MB USU performed in the Brass Band Open and Street Parade Categories with unity and high dedication. Impressive achievements came from the Brass Band Open Category, where MB USU successfully secured 2nd place. The ability to play brass instruments with resilience and beautiful harmonization from each member garnered significant attention. This performance also demonstrated the skill in expressing musical nuances and synchronized movements, carving a brilliant achievement for MB USU.

In addition, in the Street Parade Category, MB USU also achieved an outstanding accomplishment by securing the 1st honorable mention (juara harapan 1) position. Amidst the hustle and bustle of Bandung's streets, MB USU's ability to combine creative choreography and energetic musical rhythms successfully captured the attention of both the audience and the judges. This achievement becomes tangible proof of the hard work and commitment they invested in every practice session and preparation. This dual success, namely achieving 2nd place in the Brass Band Open Category and 1st honorable mention in the Street Parade Category, demonstrates that MB USU has grown into a significant force in the world of marching bands. They have not only been able to produce beautiful musical harmony but also deliver stunning visual performances.
Preparation Training for the Bandung Marching Band Championship 2019
To achieve success in the prestigious competition, intensive and structured training was conducted throughout the period from June to September 2019. The training venues included three important locations: the USU Institute for Community Service (LPPM USU), the USU Mini Stadium, and the USU Rectorate Parking Lot. A group of 40 MB USU members with blazing spirits began their preparations for BMBC 2019. High commitment and fiery enthusiasm colored every practice, creating an energetic and dedicated atmosphere. Each member sacrificed extra time and effort to hone their skills. Training is not just a routine; it also serves as a stage for individual growth and group synergy.
