The Doctoral Program in Chemical Engineering Science at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) is an advanced study program that examines plant design technology in depth, which can include various types of plants, such as chemical plants, bioprocesses, food factories, and so on. This program is an important step in understanding the complexity of modern industrial processes and how to apply chemical engineering knowledge to optimize production efficiency and sustainability. Established in 2002, this program is committed to providing excellent and research-focused education in an effort to create experts who are able to face technical challenges and innovations in the world of chemical engineering.
It has a vision to become a leading doctoral program that is able to produce graduates with superior research products in the field of environmentally sound process technology and can compete at the global level. Graduates of the USU Doctoral Program in Chemical Engineering Science are expected to have an in-depth understanding of environmentally friendly plant design technology, as well as the ability to apply this knowledge in addressing global challenges related to sustainability issues, waste management, and industrial process efficiency. Students who have completed this study program will hold a Doctoral degree (Dr.).
